The grounds were beautiful, peaceful and in a very good location with respect to seeing the sights of Spello
Maria was a thoughtful hostess and helpful
Our room was comfortable with plenty of space and the bathroom was modern. Parking was easy.
Spello is a beautiful, very clean old town. The old town is very easy to walk around, mostly hilly but not to steep. There is no parking in the old town, if you have a car it needs to be parked about 200 metres away. You can drive in close to your stay and drop off luggage. There are many dining options and a variety of lovely shops.

Spello is small, safe and beautiful.
Spello is small, safe and beautiful. It’s all uphill or downhill so good exercise while strolling. The surrounding countryside is gorgeous so strolling alongside the fields and listening to the birds is a relaxing way to spend time. The city streets and buildings are ancient and very cool. People keep it clean and so many have flowers. Easy to just hang out in the piazzas. A few museums, churches and points of interest but we just wanted to soak it in

Such a beautiful place.
Such a beautiful place. It felt like each time I went for a walk I would find a new little street filled with plants and flowers. Very relaxing in the evenings with lovely wine and Bruscetta. We also found a Couple of places with craft beer.

Spello is a gorgeous Umbrian hill village.
Spello is a gorgeous Umbrian hill village. The population is 8300 pax, it's very quiet and calm, a nice change from the hustle and bustle of Rome and Tuscany. The food is similar to Tuscan (truffles, porchetta, lenticche, cinghiale, etc...). Just overall a very lovely village, with winding little alleys and flowers and art galleries, shops everywhere in the historic center. You will find many Northern Italians visiting on weekends...a spattering of Americans and other nationalities. A week is good amount of time to explore the village and allows times for day trips to Assisi or

Take a train to Foligno and then a taxi to Spello - you won't need a car once you're in town. Easily worth a 3 days visit to unplug and relax - Spello is an absolutely charming town. 2 beautiful churches and eat at Properzio and Pinturicchio. Don't forget to also take a hike outside of Spello through the olive groves along the Roman Acqueducts and up to the next town. Easy-moderate 3-4 hours and well marked - or just go halfway and then return. Enjoy!

The beauty of Spello and the surrounding area is...
The beauty of Spello and the surrounding area is breathtaking! You walk the pink stone lined streets and feel the ancient history. Enjoy a traditional meal on the piazza. Stay in a B&B in a seemingly remote area that is just minutes from town. The views of the hills covered with olive orchards are contrasting shades of luxurious greens.
Absolutely everything about this stay was perfection especially our wonderful hostess Monia!!
In the heart of gorgeous Spello we absolutely fell in love with this perfect little apartment, with the most comfortable bed, with two pillows each, lots of hot water perfect shower pressure and all the little things you might need to have a comfortable stay!! And Monia just went above and beyond she made our stay in Spello wonderful with her recommendations and her smiley disposition!! We would tell everyone to come stay here!!
This is truly a hidden gem. This immaculately restored property is steeped in ancient history dating back hundreds of years. Not only that but the views are incredible over the valley. One of our best stays in Italy. The host was wonderful and so was the included breakfast. She also recommended a great restaurant that was minutes away. Very quiet and peaceful property while still within a ten minute drive from Assisi. Five star stay for a very reasonable price.
The owner has a fantastic two bedroom apartment that worked really well for the three of us. Two good sized double bed rooms, central dining / living area with open plan kitchen, beautifully decorated throughout. The location was perfect being in the centre of Spello’s old town up a small cobbled street scattered with small artisan shops and pots of blooming flowers. It was spotless clean, tasteful and very cosy. One of the best rentals we ever experienced.
Venue, locale and setting is amazing, perfect fit a family visiting Spello. Everything great and parking facility is free and convenient thanks to the hotel free pass. Breakfast was really good. The hotel is a medieval palace, dog and family friendly. The lady at the reception was most welcoming and willingly to give us hints about Spello. In short, a wonderful stay-- would return any time!
Everything was just as advertised. The apartment , the neighborhood, it was all very comfortable in every way. Our host & hostess met us to explain the workings of the apartment & gave us recommendations. There was a full serve gas station & grocery close by. Our favorite restaurant L'orlando Furioso and Sportoletti wine conveniently located in Spello. A perfect week!
The breakfast was good with sweets, juice, espresso drinks, and cold cuts and cheese. If we wanted, a pan and eggs were available to make our own eggs. The B&B was spotless and very close to really good restaurants and the walled old city of Spello. The host were very friendly and accommodating in spite of not speaking any English! Google Translate bridged the gap.
Absolutely beautiful ancient palace dating back originally to 1600s. Location in Spello the best for hotel stay as centre of small old city so easy walk everywhere, with relatively east slope up or down, never flat, rarely extreme. room large, right beside huge sitting area featured that has interested murals on walls & ceiling.
Albergo Il Cacciatore was a delightful hotel. The staff was excellent and made us feel like family. The daily breakfast was ample and traditional. Our room was clean and comfortable with million dollar view. We enjoyed sitting on the terrace each afternoon. We are planning to return in the near future.
The location is perfect—a very short and agreeable walk to beautiful Spello and in the heart of Umbria, so well-located for visiting all of its many small and picturesque towns. Fabrizio is a wonderful, gracious, and very kind host, and we enjoyed our stay immensely.
Vilamena is located just outside Spello, and makes it a good spot to visit the beautiful town. The swimming pool is great to swim after waking up to refresh during the hot summers, and breakfast is good and abundant. Nice view of Spello walls from the terrace
I loved being in spello. Being on a little street of shelters with low traffic and privacy. I loved walking into town slowly, casually without feeling part of a herd. The stone walls and the curtains on the windows to the street added comfort.
everything. great location, warm hosts, well equipped kitchen, spaciousness, good appliances. we have been coming to Spello for many years and this is the best apartment we have ever rented here by far.
- host was very friendly, communication was easy via WhatsApp
- appartment was very clean
